Dear Susan,
Are you looking for an excuse to
leave the house in this authentically cold winter
Minnesota weather? This issue of our monthly
newsletter is the place to look. We have theater
events, classes for kids and art opportunities for SLP
residents.
You may remember the past posts about the Our
Town
project...(drumroll please!) Well, it is
going to be big! We are excited to announce
that a community poet will be named from SLP
applicants in the near future and workshops will be held
in the coming months- so keep an eye out for that!
Thank you for continuing to support both your
community and the arts. The possibilities for good
things to come are endless in this new brand
new exciting year of 2010!
Sincerely,
Susan Schneck

Artists wanted for 2010 St. Louis
Park Arts & Culture Grant Program
Do you have a dream to
create and inspire others through your art? Do you want
to create a lasting work of art that others can view and
admire for a lifetime? Then you have come to the right
place! The City of St. Louis Park, St. Louis Park
Community Foundation and St. Louis Park Friends of the
Arts have teamed up to once again offer the grant
program to fund arts and culture activities in the
city. Your work could include murals,
sculptures, permanent art installations, dance,
literature, multi-media presentations, drama, film,
music, or any other art form. All grant-winning projects
or cultural events must be arts-related and
community-based, provide artistic enrichment, and create
opportunities for artistic collaboration in St. Louis
Park. Aligned with Vision St. Louis Park,
the grant program was established by the city, Friends
of the Arts and the St. Louis Park Community Foundation
to support community pride, encourage creative learning,
build bridges between artists and city residents, and
promote artistic production and cultural
experiences. Applications are due by Friday, January 29, 2010.
Projects must be completed by Dec. 31, 2010 (unless an
extension is granted). Maximum grant request is
